5 Morning Rituals to keep your Skin Fresh
Skin care products are great to help your skin look fresh and clean, but if you don’t stick with a healthy skin regimen, it’s possible you won’t achieve the results you desire. Fear not - The Beauty Store are here to help you with a number of skincare rituals that everyone should take into consideration for the perfect glow. Follow these simple tips to look and feel your best, whatever life throws at you.
1 - Hydrate your skin
If you often wake up with dry skin, dark circles or feeling generally worn out it could be due to lack of hydration. When this happens, a lot of us instantly go for the coffee to give us a boost. However, research has shown that drinking a glass of water straight after you wake up can have more benefits than a cup of coffee. It’s an excellent way to kick-start your body and rehydrate your skin, helping towards ideal skin health. You can also add some lemon slices and honey, which will promote a radiant complexion due to their antioxidant properties.
2 - Exfoliate
Ideally, you should wash your face twice a day, once in the morning to ensure all makeup from the day before is removed, and once at night to remove makeup. So, in the morning, we recommend giving your skin a light exfoliation. It improves circulation and stimulates the lymphatic system, reducing cellulite appearance and smoothing out your skin. Although, we do stress that this should be a light exfoliate, meaning a daily facial wash with these features is what you should be looking for.
3 - Moisturise
As well as hydrating your skin through drinking water, using a moisturiser before putting on any makeup is also recommended. You could do this as a light layer to have a base for your foundation or through a tinted moisturiser/BB cream. Whatever you choose, you’ll notice the difference all day long. Your face will feel smoother and you’ll feel more awake and refreshed. One with SPF protection is an added bonus!
4 - Awaken your senses
Thousands of people across the world swear by a cold shower - or at least a cold splash of water to the face - in the morning to eradicate puffy eyes and grogginess. It’s quite simple to do, especially if you’re in a rush and don’t have the time to prepare any other products, and can potentially change your outlook for the day. When you look good, you feel good and this step is definitely one to try if you always wake up tired.
5 - Don’t forget the lips
One thing that we often forget to take care of is our lips. Sure, most women carry around a chapstick in their purse, but how often have you lost it? Twice a week, try brushing your lips lightly with your dry toothbrush, before brushing your teeth. This will remove any dry skin and leave your lips feeling kissable. It’ll also help your chapstick last longer and hydrate your lips even more.
